Why I’m Studying Trade Policy — And Learning a New Language Along the Way

In 2024, I started pursuing a Master’s in International Affairs at Baruch College. My concentration is Trade Policy — a space where economics, diplomacy, and development collide in ways that shape real lives.
My professional background is in accounting and private equity. I’ve worked with high-net-worth families, investment structures, and complex financial reporting. But over time, I realized I was more interested in the systems behind the money than the money itself.
I’m learning Bahasa Indonesia as part of a longer-term interest in global engagement — not just on paper, but on the ground. I’m drawn to the challenges of development, the friction between national interest and global cooperation, and the role that institutions like the IMF, WTO, and regional trade bodies play in all of it.
This site isn’t meant to be a blog. Just a quiet record of what I’m building, learning, and thinking about as I make the shift from finance into international affairs.
